Sanjay Dutt’s life seems to be full of Bollywood stuff. Gun, crime, police, courtroom, coviction, jail and re-emergence of Sanju Baba. Will the biopic on him, being made by his friend Raju Hirani justify him, as a human being or a convict, on the other hand?

Clearing the air, the Director of the film tell that “It’s not a film about guns, drugs and the underworld. It’s a feel-good film about a father-son relationship with Paresh Rawal playing Sunil Dutt and Ranbir as Sanju…”
Besides Ranbir Kapoor as Sanju, Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt and Diya Mirza are in their designated roles in the movie. Raj Kumar Hirani declared the shot through tweet which is as follows:
First shot taken now for Sanjay Dutt's biopic. Canning a very funny scene. Excitement in cast and crew.

Describing about the genesis of the idea of biopic, Hirani says, Hirani recalls his meeting with Sanju Baba. When Sanju was on parole, one day Hirani went around 5pm and stayed till 3am, listening to Sanjay talk about his unusual life. He got mesmerized by the accounts of his exeriences of Jail. This routine continued for 25 days. Reportedly, by the time Sanjay returned to jail, Raju had 200 hours of recorded conversations with him and no intentions of turning it into a film. But Hirani asked his writer-partner Abhijat Joshi to fly down to Mumbai and after Sanjay had given him permission to tell his story truthfully, without glorifying him, started working on the script, cross-checking every detail.
we hope the movie to be released on the eve of Christmas of the year 2017. somebody rightly says that only Sanju biopic can take the fever of “Dangal” down.
